Socially Engaged was a site-specific intervention, made for an exhibition titled ‘At Your Service’. Playing with the terms usually found on a toilet lock; Vacant/Engaged, I changed the text to read Socially Engaged/Socially Vacant, as a playful nod to the role of art and the artist in relation to social and political concerns, and the framing of art practices’ and positions.
